Travelling to Nuremberg can be done a number of ways - trains, planes and automobiles.

If you're into speed, here are some flight options for you:

If you plan on flying into Munich, we recommend you hire a car. The journey should take you approximately two hours (Munich to Neukirchen).

Hiring a car is also a good idea if you would like to visit different towns and villages around the area of the wedding. If you would like to hire a car, you can do this easily at Munich airport, as well as at Nuremberg airport, who have Hertz as their main provider.

If you would like to fly into Munich but not hire a car, it is possible to travel to Nuremberg and then Neukirchen by train, however you would look at multiple changes and longer travel times as Munich airport is quite a long distance away from the main station.

As we will be in the country, there will be no public transport and no taxis. The nearest town to us, from where you may pre-order a taxi is Sulzbach-Rosenberg, about 20 minutes away by car. If you would like to be independent and move around a lot, you may feel more comfortable with a car at your disposal.

Others can rely on public transport to take them from various airports to Neukirchen from where we will arrange lifts for people with friends and acquaintances. There is also a small train service that connects Neukirchen to Etzelwang. There is no public transport to Oed or Erkelsdorf.

We plan to share cars and give people lifts throughout their stay. As none of the locations are too far away from each other, it makes sense to car share and if we can't fit everyone in, we can make mulitple journeys. Please don't worry about getting around once you've arrived, we'll make it happen. And this also means that you will be able to enjoy a drink or two without having to worry!

When booking your flights, we find through personal experience that flights can be up to £50-£60 cheaper booked through providers such as lastminute.com as they do not charge a booking fee. It is probably best to check the rates the airlines have to offer directly and then check for a better price via a travel site such as lastminute.com, expedia or airline network. Bookings can be taken at anytime, however you may find that the closer to the actual date of the wedding, the more expensive they become.
